Estate Manager/ House Manager, Aspen, CO (filled)

This young busy family is ready to employ a House Manager/Houseman for their vacation home in Aspen where they may spend a few weeks at Christmas with their family and house guests, Spring break for a couple of weeks, or a few months in the summer. Generally, this position is 5 days a week when the family is not in residence, although they must be available to work nights, weekends, and some holidays when they are in residence. This is a live-out position.

The home is highly technical in nature and should run like a five-star boutique when they are in residence. Duties include making sure supplies are provisioned, daily staff and maintenance schedules are adhered to, assist with event planning, all while maintaining a quiet relaxing home environment for the family when they are there. Someone with extensive knowledge of how to care for fine finishings, art, and setting a formal table and white glove service essential.

Hospitality from chauffeuring the family to airport pickups and drop offs as well as assisting with luggage is a very important aspect of the position. Staff scheduling and working closely with the Chef and Housekeeper are necessary to provide exceptional quality and personalized service. Must be able to manage a team of servers when brought in with big parties and events. Must manage the bar and extensive wine cellar, understanding the inventory, usage, and process to stock and restock.

This person is responsible for the overall operation, and maintenance of the property, inside and out, while managing relationships with vendors and sub-contractors. Understanding how HVAC and heating systems work, exterior lighting, Crestron, and Lutron systems, while monitoring the exterior, the landscaping, and the outdoor sound system, and identifying repairs as needed.

Must have experience managing an Estate home, be proactive and resourceful, professional, capable, and self-starting.
