This very lovely family has had a Houseman for many years, and he is relocating to another one of their properties, so they are looking to replace him here in Palm Beach. The position is generally a Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5-ish, depending on the day. This position is about 75% outside maintenance and 25% inside helping the Housekeepers with some of the heavier chores. Mr. and Mrs. are very low-key, private people, and so they are looking for a detail-oriented person to come in and do their job and go home. This person would report directly to the Estate manager, but Mr. and Mrs. will give you directions as well, as they spend many days working from their home office and enjoying their property. They will want him to learn every corner of this very large estate and be able to meet and speak with all of the subcontractors who come to the property. There is no driving required. The automobiles are serviced by service professionals. They have a very detailed job description, with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks outlined. Such things would include checking all cooling towers, air conditioning filters, the decks and porches, all the terrace furniture, lawn and patio furniture, with all the cushions and tables, and seating areas. Helping to maintain the pools, fountains, and hot tub/sauna, after the pool service leaves is necessary. Keeping the gates, driveways, walkways, and garages clean, while checking for cracks or irregularities is also important. The children are grown and gone but now arrive for holidays and vacations, so there can be a house full. Light bulb inventories and home technology systems are very important, so we are really looking for someone who has worked in a large estate home and knows their way around a large Estate. Must have verifiable references. Salary is based on experience, and they are looking for a long-term employee, like everyone else in their employ.
